The MLM Experiment has Ended

It’s been almost 2 years now and I have blown through $2,135.

What do I have to show for it? Only the data I kept on this blog.  But what I did do, was put together a free viral report.  My report is a condensed version of this blog.  I found that giving it away for free actually brings in qualified leads.  After all this time and money…..turns out a free marketing method beats any paid method.  Lesson learned.

“I am now on my way to earning back all the money I lost in the last few years. It feels good to finally be successful”

More Email Marketing

Opt-in Email Campaign  Time to put email marketing to bed with one more test. This time I purchased a campaign of 300,000. I was impressed with the amount of emails that were actually opened. I was not impressed with the click thru rate. Does this make any sense to anyone else? 35 clicks out of 92,051 opens. Whats going on here? So I decided to do another test. This time I promoted an physical affiliate product. Maybe MLM isn’t the best for email marketing. Ouch! Same results. What a joke.

Results = 0 Prospects.  0 Enrollments.  Profit/loss = $490

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 9 months) = -2,135

Daily-Traffic

Website traffic I tried another website that offers website visitors. I ordered 10K visits to my lead capture page. I have to say this traffic was ok. 15 prospects fill out their info. The cost was $32. So that works out to around $2 per lead. As usual, no one became a paid member. I might test daily-traffic.com again in the future with another opportunity.

Results = 15 Prospects.  0 EnrollmentsProfit/loss = $32

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 8 months) = -1,645

Guaranteed Paid Sign Ups

Paid Sign Ups  Wouldn’t it be great if I could just pay someone to enroll new members for me? These types of services are hard to find because they have had such a bad rap in the past. I came across classified2000.net, they are probable one of the few that still offer guaranteed paid sign ups. They offer 6 paid members to your mlm program. The cost for me was $169. Not bad if they were able to deliver. 6 x $25 = $125, if the members stayed for another month, I would be in profit. classified2000.net offers to complete the campaign in 60 – 190 days. Well, it’s been a very long 190 days, over 6 months now, and not one paid member. My campaign is still running and has delivered 31 prospects. Not one of these has become a paid member. If the campaign can’t deliver one paid member in a six month time period, I don’t feel it will deliver any at all.

 Results = 31 Prospects.  0 Enrollments.  Profit/loss = $169

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 8 months) = -1,613

LogiTraffic

Website Traffic  I thought I would try some standard web traffic from LogiTraffic.  They do not come out say exactly what type of traffic they deliver. I purchased 500 targeted visitors for $10.  Traffic was sent to my page, but no leads.

Results = 0 Prospects.  0 Enrollments.  Profit/loss = $10

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 7 months) = -1,444

Opt-In Targeted Email Scam

Email Marketing    The only marketing that has brought in paid sign ups so far was a guaranteed email open campaign.  But it was too spendy for the average marketer.  So I did some searching and found a website offering a similar campaign for $99.  They offer a 5% open rate and a minimum of 1,000 clicks from the link in the email.  I received about 2,500 clicks without anyone even filling out the lead capture page.  I find this very odd, because the last company I used only sent 380 clicks and 80 people submitted their info. Of those, 4 ended up becoming paid members.  “Opt-In Targeted Email’” is a company to stay away from.

Results = 0 Prospects.  0 EnrollmentsProfit/loss = $99

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 7 months) = -1,434

Fiverr gig

I have tried a few fiverr gigs in the past with no luck.  This one was a solo email to 200K members. The gig promised over 250 clicks to my site. Clicks were delivered.  I had 2 prospects fill out the lead capture page.  Neither one enrolled in the program.

Results = 2 Prospects.  0 Enrollments.  Profit/loss = $5

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 6 months) = -1,335

Last year I did have one Team Captain below me for an income of $25 per month. I have adjusted the above total to include this.

Search Engine SEO

1st Page Rankings  So I started experimenting with search engine optimization. If anyone can get a site listed on the first page, a lot of traffic can be had.  My first project was howtowinthelotterycash.com. For this site I targeted the phrase “how to win the lottery”. My keyword research told me that this phrase was easy to target, and it was.  My site was listed in the number 4 and 5 positions for a few months. From this I received a lot of unique visitors to my site.  Over 3,000. I thought this was excellent for being a beginner.  The traffic did not last because google changed their algorithm during May and June.  I did manage to get around 100 prospects that filled out the lead capture page.  But, no paid enrollments.

I then started another project after the algorithm changes.  fllottowin.com.  There are many easy keywords to rank for that are associated with the Florida lottery.  This site currently ranks on the first page for 15 keywords.  Not bad. The site is getting around 1,000 unique visitors per month.  In the last 4 months I have received 135 prospects, but no enrollments.

This experiment involved targeting lottery players, not mlm enthusiast. I thought I could convince lottery players to enroll in the Lotto Magic program.  Not sure if this is a very good plan of attack.  Most of the cost went to outsourcing article writing.

Results = 135 Prospects.  0 Enrollments.  Profit/loss = $245

Total profit/loss year to date (1 year and 5 months) = -1,630

10,000 visitors

Website visitors It’s been awhile since I tried driving traffic to the lead capture page.  I tried out 10,000 USA visitors from maxvisits.  All visitors were delivered, but not even one lead signed up.

Results = 0 Prospects.  0 EnrollmentsProfit/Loss = -$12

Total profit/loss to date (1 year and 4 months) = -$1,385

Guaranteed Signups

Guaranteed Signups In the past these types of signups used to be a waste of funds, because they were paid to enroll in your free to join program.  Today’s guaranteed signups are advertised as ‘non incentivized’.  So I tested out a campaign of 50.  All signups were delivered.  Of course not one person actually joined.

Results =  50 Prospects.  0  Enrollments   Profit/Loss = -$60

Total profit/loss to date = -$1,373
